Ingredients

  • 50g rapeseed oil
  • 2 sliced onions
  • 2 crushed garlic cloves
  • 2cm piece ginger, peeled, grated
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons turmeric
  • 1/2 to 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Garam Masala
  • 2 teaspoons ground coriander
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 2 teaspoons Paprika
  • 1kg stewing beef
  • 200 ml of beef broth
  • 400ml coconut milk
  • 2 curry leaves
  • 200g spinach leaves
  • Steamed Basmati rice to serve
  • Pappadums

Instructions

  • Prepare a saucepan and preheat it with medium heat by adding the rapeseed oil. Add the spices along with the garlic cloves and ginger and stir for 5 minutes before adding the beef. Add the beef and cook unit a brownish color is attained then add the broth, milk, curry, salt, and pepper. Keep cooking until boiling, then reduce the heat and simmer for 75 minutes. Add the spinach and prepare the Basmati rice and Pappadums to serve.
