Apple cider vinegar has been considered a supplement that has arisen from nature where it helped many people shred of some pounds of their bodies. Even drinking it raw has been conventional or even mixing some tablespoons with water as a detox drink to kick off your day. Words are cool but is that phenomenon has a substantial scientific background?

Well, the answer is basically dependent on some of the examples we see or in other words clinical trials. Myths are spread everywhere, so basically you might be losing weight and you are under the placebo effect, not just because apple cider vinegar has really to do with your fat loss process.

Studies Conducted on the Effect of Apple Cider Vinegar on Weight Loss

This matter of apple cider vinegar did not create a lot of hype in the streets so we do not usually find a lot of conducted studies; however, there are some studies conducted on animals like mice.

These studies concluded that apple cider vinegar has a compound called acedic acid responsible for reducing the probability of the mice being obese.

To enhance the studies farther, the scientific community decided to conduct studies on human beings. The study was conducted on two groups of men and women for 12 weeks where one group had an intake of one tablespoon of apple cider vinegar mixed with a glass of water daily while the other group were told that they are consuming apple cider vinegar but actually they weren’t.

The result of the study claimed that the group that actually consumed apple cider vinegar lost 2 to 4 pounds and had less body fat.

That sounds really promising, but that amount of weight loss actually only equates to an 1/8-1/3 of a pound per week. Would you be happy with those results? We think there are definitely other diet plans where you’ll lose much more weight than that!

However, the results were not very prominent as they concluded that you lose around ¼ pounds weekly, which is actually not a really magical effect. You can find diets like the 7 day meal plan and shed off more weight rather than depending on apple cider vinegar. However, this vinegar actually has many other health benefits like blocking the absorption of starch, which lowers the risk of being diagnosed with diabetes type II.

Still No Clue

In the end of the day, no study strongly concluded that apple cider vinegar has a magical effect on losing fats, it might be only a satiety-suppressor. So, you might eat less due to the satiety suppressing effect, not because apple cider vinegar washes of your fats away.

We believe that we could reach a better conclusion if more studies are conducted because this type of vinegar has many other health benefits that could lead indirectly to fat loss.
